Active Release Technique

As someone who runs, bikes and former college lacrosse player, DrStu treats athletes to keep them performing at their best and to help them recover quickly from injuries. One treatment DrStu uses is Active Release Technique to strip the muscles of adhesions (sometimes referred to as knots) to allow the muscle to function properly and decrease the pain.

Graston / IASTM

Graston Technique or Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization allows us to analyze and treat the soft tissues at the same time. The instrument is glided over the soft tissue (muscles, tendons or ligaments) and it gives feedback to the Doctor as a vibration from the rough spots or adhesion in the tissue. Then the instrument can be used to comb out or break down the adhesion or scar tissue.
